A love letter to my fellow value-creators & paradigm shifters (P2/2)

Sketch of 5 vortexes and a small figure. In the first vortex the figure is outside of it, in another they are swirling inside, another they are in it but getting pummeled. In another the figure is peacefully walking through it. The final sketch has

I left you with the question: How can we be fully ourselves and be financially supported? And the way I best understand this is in the drawing above ^

Many identify with position [A]. Being fully “outside” the system. On the fringe of capitalism and unable to figure out how to belong within it. No longer interested in contorting, hiding, or shapeshifting who we are – for the sake of belonging.

As my brilliant friend said recently “I can no longer reign in any of my authenticity" and it perfectly describes the predicament.

I have come to understand that the system of capitalism is a watery, emotional, vortexing current that sweeps up everything in its path. We know we cannot have an impact if we exist outside of it [A] yet, many of us cannot just become part of it either. So what if we could create a way of being that allows us to be creators of the system [B]? And how do we get there?

How do we transition from [A] outsider to [B] creator:

In order to do this we must cross the threshold of the system; in other words “experience” it. And while many of us try, we end up either losing ourselves to it [1] or fighting to hold onto our authenticity within it [2]. But what if there is another way? A way where we can pass through without sacrifice or resistance?

I don’t fully know the art of passing through [3] but I know it involves an advanced level of detachment and security. No longer are we trying to will the system to change, but rather we walk with a sense of freedom, belief, and collective support so that the system passes right through us.

I firmly believe to be the creators of the system [B] we need to experience it with adaptability, openness, transparency, and a type of security that only comes with holding a different vision [3].

I’ve said that [3] is both the easiest and hardest way of being because de-conditioning isn’t comfortable. It definitely isn’t easy but once we are in that state, there is a gift of ease. And once we embody this way of being, only then can we pass through and step into the space as a creator. Become the epicenter.

This post is contemplative, a working theory and I offer it as a vision. One that serves those of us who are overflowing with soft skills, navigate the world in technicolor and embody wisdom not everyone is ready for.

May we continue to live our truths with kindness and bravery.
And may you enjoy the very human mistakes in my drawing.
